As I was setting up the blog, I came to the place where I had to have a "name" for it. Aha--that's why I have never set a blog up before. But, one of my philosophies lately has been to just keep on moving, taking one step forward, trying to get something done from my endless list. I almost went with "Taking One Step ForWord" because of my passion for Fast ForWord, but I decided this will be more than just a plug for Fast ForWord and don't want to turn potential readers away because of the name.
Because this is the Internet and people can get here who don't know me, I should warn readers that I try to be open-minded, but have been known to be cynical. I believe common sense is too uncommon (which adds to my cynicism). It makes me crazy when people assume someone does not have the ability to do something, because that assumption becomes an assurance that we will not expose the person to the opportunities to possibly reach the goal. I am an advocate for the little guy. I believe in looking for the little steps and celebrating them. I know that when I can collaborate and work with others, we can achieve much more than each of us going forward on our own. I love sharing what I know with others so they can use the information as well. And, finally, I know that I am always behind on something, but don't want anyone to take it personally.
So, off we go---taking another step forward!
